"When I work with the layers of fabric and paint I use them to enter inside the material.
They sometimes show the struggle of the two materials and the conflict that they can create.
The black texture/form on the pleasing orange "carpet" creates a wound. There are other areas
in this piece that also create wounds".

" Because I work in layers of various materials it is like digging to reveal and also to cover.
Writing is hidden on the right side under layers of fabric and paint.
On the left side the layers are more transparent because of the strong light (daylight)
and the writing is revealed to the viewer--a written statement which is wedded to the fabric.
The statement is not static but has movement which seems to go on and have a life of its own.
Is it a personal message or a political statement? I leave it open to the viewer".
